Four DIGs, including Meera Chaudhary, promoted as AIGs



KATHMANDU: The government has promoted four Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs) of Nepal Police to the post of Additional Inspector Generals (AIGs).

A cabinet meeting held at the Office of the Council of Ministers at Singh Durbar on Friday took a decision to this effect as per the recommendation made by the promotion committee under the Ministry of Home Affairs.

DIGs Sandeep Bhandari, Sudeep Giri, Meera Chaudhary, and Tek Bahadur Tamang have been promoted to AIGs.

Earlier, 17 people were simultaneously promoted to the post of DIGs on June 1, 2022. Eight of them, including incumbent IGP Basant Bahadur Kunwar, were later promoted to the post of AIGs.

According to Nepal Police sources, the AIGs promoted today will be posted in the Department of Operations, Central Investigation Bureau, Human Resources Department, and Provincial Coordination Department.
