Sindhupalchowk flood victim families to get land



SINDHUPALCHOWK: Eleven households displaced from the flooding occurred in Yangri Larke river in Sindhupalchowk district in 2021 are to get land plot for the housing construction.

Chairman of Panchpokhari Thangpal Rural Municipality Tasi Lama said that an agreement has been signed to purchase the land plots for the building of houses to hard hit 11 households from Dalit community.

A total of 179 households were affected from the flood.

“Housing reconstruction for 13 households and rehabilitation for others is needed,” Chairman Lama said.

So far, land plots have been procured for 22 households and five families are completing the construction of their house.

According to Chief Administrative Officer Krishna Hari Poudel, each household affected from the flood is given Rs 500,000 for housing construction and additional Rs 300,000 to those rendered landless.
