NC failing to play the role of opposition: NWPP Chair Bijukchhe

BHAKTAPUR: Chairperson of the Nepal Workers and Peasants Party (NWPP), Narayanman Bijukchhe, has said the Nepali Congress has not been able to perform the role of an opposition party.

Speaking at a program in Bhaktapur, Bijukchhe blamed the NC for introducing a new practice of supporting the government even though it is the main opposition party.

“The main opposition party never supports the government. The main opposition party should scrutinize the government’s activities as a shadow government and raise alarm against the wrong deeds of the government. But the Nepali Congress has kept itself away from this responsibility,” he said.

He also said it was wrong to stop lawmakers from speaking in the parliament.
