DPM Shrestha affirms unwavering commitment to anti-corruption campaign



NARAYANGADH: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha affirmed today that the government’s anti-corruption campaign would persist, with no room for compromise.

“This commitment is not solely mine but that of the entire government. The campaign will not waver,” he asserted while addressing the 13th anniversary celebration of the community radio station, Madi. Minister Shrestha insisted that the campaign enjoyed unwavering support from intellectuals and civil society.

“This government stands firmly against corruption, smuggling, black marketing, impunity, and deceit, and we shall steadfastly carry forward this stance,” he declared.

The Deputy Prime Minister additionally vowed to take legal action against individuals implicated in cases related to public land disputes, fraudulent Bhutanese refugee claims, and gold smuggling.

The government is actively engaged in pursuing social and economic transformation, building upon the political achievements attained thus far. Minister Shrestha commended the pivotal role played by communication media in advancing revolutionary movements and establishing democracy in Nepal. He also commended the community radio, Madi, for its contributions to the development of the Madi region.

During the event, Tara Kumari Kaji Mahato, Mayor of Madi Municipality, Shovakhar Chapagain, President of Nepali Congress Chitwan, and Sandesh Paudel, Central Member of CPN (Maoist Centre), extended their best wishes to the radio station. They also brought to DPM Shrestha’s attention the challenges confronting the Madi area.
