Father and daughter die in Tarakeshwar landslide



KATHMANDU: A tragic incident occurred in Tarakeshwar, Kathmandu, as a landslide claimed the lives of a father and his daughter.

The landslide struck Chandra Tamang’s house in Cho village, Tarakeshwar Municipality-5, last night, resulting in the destruction of the property and claiming two lives.

According to SP Kumodh Dhungel, the spokesperson of the Kathmandu District Police Circle, the victims were identified as 41-year-old Ganesh Tamang and his 15-year-old daughter Ashma Tamang, who were residing in the house as tenants.

Ganesh’s wife, Sanju Tamang, escaped the tragedy as she happened to be outside the house at the time of the landslide.

The bodies of the deceased father and daughter have been taken to the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital for post-mortem.
