KATHMANDU: Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Sudan Kirati, has once again sought a clarification from Pradeep Adhikari, the Director General of the Nepal Civil Aviation Authority (CAAN).
Minister Kirati sought an explanation from Adhikari for the second time, as he did not respond to the Minister’s initial letter seeking clarification.
The Ministry of Tourism stated that the second letter was sent to Adhikari based on a decision made by the Cabinet.
In the previous communication, Minister Kirati had given Adhikari a one-week deadline to provide an explanation.
However, this time, he has been granted a three-day timeframe.
Minister Kirati has cautioned that if Adhikari fails to respond within the given three-day period, appropriate legal action will be taken.
In the first letter, Minister Kirati raised queries regarding the Director General’s public statements that contradict the government’s policies and program.
Minister Kirati has also raised concerns over the incidents of two planes and three helicopters crashing during DG Adhikari’s tenure.
The Minister had also asked Adhikari about the effectiveness of his duties and responsibilities to ensure aviation security.
