International taekwondo referee Dhakal feted



KATHMANDU: The Embassy of Nepal based in Vienna, the capital of Austria, has felicitated international taekwondo referee Dipendra Dhakal.

The Embassy honored him citing he has made Nepal known in the world through sports.

Ambassador Bharat Kumar Regmi felicitated Dhakal by offering him the ‘dhaka topi’, the typical Nepali cap, and silk scarf as token of honour.

Dhakal has served as referee in world ranking taekwondo matches held in the European countries.

He is currently in Austria as a referee representing Nepal in the Austrian Open International Taekwondo Championship.

He is also scheduled to participate in a competition taking place at Alicante city in Spain. Dhakal also took part in the ‘Paris Olympics, 2024’ international referee selection training held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan a few months back.

He has served as referee in the international taekwondo competitions held in Belgium, Spain, France, Pakistan, Germany and China before this.
