Curfew lifted in Nepalgunj until 8 PM

Restrictions remain in place afterward



NEPALGUNJ: The curfew that had been imposed in the Nepalgunj sub-metropolitan city of Banke has been temporarily lifted today.

Chief District Officer of Banke, Bipin Acharya, has announced that the curfew will be lifted until 8 pm today, in accordance with the Local Administration Act of 2028.

An indefinite curfew had been enforced in the sub-metropolitan area since Tuesday.

However, it is important to note that the curfew will be reinstated after 8 pm and will continue until 6 am on Friday.

According to section 3 (a) of the Local Administration Act, this curfew had prohibited all forms of gatherings, rallies, assemblies, meetings, demonstrations, and the dissemination of publicity materials.

The local administration has issued a plea to all members of the community to safeguard public property, promote social harmony, uphold human rights, and refrain from engaging in disruptive activities, such as rioting in public spaces or intruding upon the private lives of individuals, in order to maintain peace and order in the district.
