KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli has expressed that the main opposition party in the parliament is calling for the resignation of the Prime Minister instead of seeking his clarification regarding the controversial statement concerning foreign influence in Nepali politics.

When questioned by reporters as he exited the parliament building, former Prime Minister Oli provided a concise response, stating that Prime Minister Dahal’s remarks were indecent and detrimental to national self-respect and independence.

“It was highly inappropriate and objectionable, undermining our national self-respect and independence,” he emphasized. Oli further asserted, “UML insists on his immediate resignation, and we have no interest in hearing any clarifications on this matter.”

During the book launch event of Pritam Singh on July 3, Prime Minister Dahal claimed that Singh had visited Delhi multiple times to secure his (Dahal’s) appointment as Prime Minister.

On Wednesday, opposition parties, including the main opposition UML, disrupted the House of Representatives meeting.
