Parliament meeting adjourned for half hour due to opposition parties’ protest

KATHMANDU: The meeting of the House of Representatives has been adjourned for half an hour due to the obstruction of the opposition parties including CPN-UML, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP).

The lawmakers of the opposition party stood up in protest over Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s controversial remarks that Pritam Singh had played a significant role in making him a Prime Minister.

UML lawmaker Raghuji Pant argued that Prime Minister Dahal’s remarks have made the country ashamed of him and that the Prime Minister should resign from office immediately.

He announced that the parliament could not discuss any other issues unless Prime Minister Dahal resigns.

Following his speech, the UML and other opposition party lawmakers stood up in protest.

After the protest from the opposition, Speaker Devraj Ghimire postponed the meeting for half an hour.
