Buddha inspires world community for peace, non-violence: leader Nepal

KATHMANDU: Chairperson of the CPN (Unified Socialist) Madhav Kumar Nepal has said Gautam Buddha has inspired the world community for peace and non-violence.

A prosperous society has been envisioned while disseminating a message of social justice, equality, and fraternity, said the former Prime Minister in a message of best wishes on the occasion of the 2567th Buddha Anniversary.

Moral education based on Buddha’s philosophy and the principles of Panchasheel would help maintain social unity and good governance while increasing harmony among people, he said.

Stating that Buddha’s guidelines and preaching are the strong foundation for world fraternity and cultural unity, he stressed the need for the conservation of Buddhist literature and heritage to institutionalize his contributions to the society.
