RSP holding meeting to decide whether or not to join government

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is holding a meeting today to decide whether or not it should join the Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda-led government.

A party leader said that the meeting to be held today evening at the party office in Basundhara will discuss issues related to the government.

Meanwhile, on Monday RSP Chairman Rabi Lamichhane briefed a meeting of the party’s central committee and parliamentary party about the proposal coming from Prime Minister Dahal to join the government.

The party has been insisting that it should get the ministries (Minister of Home Affairs; Ministry of Education, Science and Technology; and Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security; and Minister of State for Health) that it previously held.

Similarly, the party has also been demanding that the government’s Common Minimum Program (CMP) should be rewritten.

Meanwhile, other parties in the ruling coalition have also urged RSP to join the government.
