ANFA bids farewell to U-20 Women’s Team to play in Palestine



KATHMANDU: All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has bidden farewell to the Nepali U-20 women’s football team, which is going to Palestine for the Asian Cup qualifiers, has been bid farewell.

ANFA bid adieu to the 23-member team on Sunday.

The team was announced on Friday for the tournament to be held in Palestine.

ANFA today bid farewell to the players and the official team including the head coach Yam Prasad Gurung.

Nepal, which is the Group B of the Asian qualifiers, will compete with the home team Palestine, and Northern Mariana Iceland in the first round.

The UAE in this group withdrew its name at the last moment. The competition will be held from March 8 to 10. Nepal will play Palestine on March 8 and Northern Mariana Islands on March 10. The group winners will qualify for the second round.

The second stage will be held from June 3 to 11 and the best four teams will qualify for the U-20 Women’s Asian Cup in Uzbekistan.

Goalkeepers: Kabita BK, Sabitri Kisan, Leela Joshi.

Forwards: Garima Rai, Amisha Karki, Mamata Pun, Sadipa Bholan.

Midfielders: Tulsa Bohora, Jennifer Rana, Sara Bajracharya, Sunkala Rai, Manmaya Damai, Preeti Rai, Anjali Machamasi, Saraswati Hamal, Deepa Shahi.

Defenders: Sabina Chaudhary, Hima Rawat, Saru Hamal, Sunita Bhulan, Divya Yasmali Magar, Pratiksha Chaudhary, Kumari Tamang.
