Sudurpaschim: CM Shah preparing to take vote of confidence today



SUDURPASCHIM: Chief Minister (CM) of Sudurpaschim Province, Kamal Shah, is preparing to take a vote of confidence in the Provincial Assembly meeting today (Sunday).

Shah, who is also the leader of the Nepali Congress (NC) parliamentary party, has prepared to register a proposal for a vote of confidence in the provincial assembly meeting to be held at 1 pm today.

Shah became the Chief Minister as the leader of the largest party in the Provincial Assembly as per Clause 3 Article 168 of the Constitution.

There is a constitutional provision that the CM should take a vote of confidence from the provincial assembly within 30 days of becoming the chief minister.

CM Shah hopes 41 provincial lawmakers will give him the vote of confidence in Sudurpaschim Province.

The Nepali Congress has 19 lawmakers, Maoist Center 10, Unified Samajwadi Party 4, Nagarik Unmukti Party 7, and one independent MP.
