UML Chairman Oli urges all political parties to practice democracy



KATHMANDU: CPN (UML) chairman and former Prime Minister KP Oli has urged all political parties to practice complete democracy.

Talking in special hour of today’s meeting of the House of Representatives, Chair Oli mentioned that the game played to remain always in power by adopting any method could not strengthen democracy.

He said, “A common consensus can be forged for the cause of good governance, corruption control, not for power.”

Stressing that the political parties and government should move ahead in a new way in the changed situation, the CPN (UML) chair expressed the view that political instability would make negative impact on citizens and democracy.

He appealed for political stability, mentioning that they would provide full and constructive support to the incumbent government.

Informing about the role played by the government led by him in country’s development and prosperity and gained achievements, the UML Chair opined that the coalition government would play role to uplift economic condition of the country.

He further said, “The incumbent government will take the country’s economy in the right path immediately. Initiatives to address the problems of economy have already been started.”

Chair Oli claimed that the country would be upgraded to a middle-income country from low-income country within next 10 years through a campaign “Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali”.
