Defense Minister Khadka leaves for Ghana



KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Purna Bahadur Khadka left for Ghana late last night to partake in the United Nations Ministerial Conference on International Peacekeeping.

The annual conference, organized by the United Nations, is scheduled to take place this time in Accra, the capital of Ghana, on December 5 and 6.

Leading the Nepalese delegation, Deputy Prime Minister Khadka will represent Nepal at the conference.

During the event, member states contributing to international peacekeeping will present their commitments in nine areas that support UN peacekeeping.

The conference aims to address and discuss issues and challenges related to peacekeeping, presenting potential solutions.

Deputy Prime Minister Khadka is slated to deliver a speech on behalf of Nepal, expressing the country’s commitment to peacekeeping efforts.

Additionally, other members of the Nepalese delegation will participate in various programs.

As part of the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Khadka will engage in a courtesy meeting with the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Atul Khare, and Jean-Pierre Lacroix.
