Jajarkot Earthquake Update: Death toll reaches 157

SURKHET: The death toll from the 6.4-magnitude earthquake on Friday night, centered in Jajarkot, has risen to 157.

DSP Shailendra Thapa, Joint Spokesperson of the Armed Police Force Nepal, reported that the death toll had reached 157 by Saturday afternoon.

He mentioned that 105 people lost their lives in Jajarkot, while 52 people perished in Rukum West.

DSP Thapa also provided information that 105 people were injured in Jajarkot, 52 in Rukum West, 3 in both Dailekh and Baitadi, 5 in Jumla, and 1 in Rolpa.

The majority of the injured are receiving treatment at local hospitals and health posts, while those with severe injuries are being cared for at Bheri Hospital Nepalgunj.

Seven critically injured individuals were transported to Kathmandu and admitted to TU Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj.
