NSU to provide Rs 700,000 to earthquake victims

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Student Union (NSU), an affiliate of the Nepali Congress, has made the decision to extend immediate financial aid of 700,000 rupees to the earthquake victims in Jajarkot and Rukum West.

According to NSU President Dujang Sherpa, 703 central members of NSU have each contributed 1,000 rupees for the purpose of immediate relief activities.

Furthermore, the NSU has postponed the induction program originally scheduled for November 7 and 8.

Sherpa explained that the postponement is to redirect their focus toward providing relief and support to the earthquake-affected areas.

In addition, the NSU has issued instructions to its subordinate units to assemble in the affected regions.

President Sherpa also revealed that preparations are underway for additional necessary support and aid distribution in the affected areas.
