Govt consents extension of TRC deadline

KATHMANDU: The government has decided to open the way for the extension of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the Commission of Inquiry into Disappeared Persons.

The meeting of the Council of Ministers held at Singh Darbar on Tuesday agreed to extend the term of the Commission.

Communication and Information Technology Minister Rekha Sharma informed that on the recommendation of the Ministry of Law and Parliamentary Affairs, the government decided to issue an order to remove the obstacles to extend the deadline until the end of Poush (Mid-January).
