KATHMANDU: Main opposition CPN-UML and other parties obstructed the meeting of today’s House of Representatives.

Parliamentarians of CPN-UML, Rastriya  Prajatantra Party (RPP), and Rastriya Swatantra Party obstructed today’s meeting of the Parliament protesting the authentication of the Citizenship Bill by President Ram Chandra Paudel, providing amnesty to Resham Chaudhary, who was found guilty in the 2015 Tikapur incident, and PM Dahal’s discussion with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the border issue.

In the meeting to be held at the Federal Parliament Building, New Baneswor, lawmakers were supposed to start discussion on the budget presented by the government for the next fiscal year.

The UML obstructed the meeting demanding that Prime Minister responded to the Parliament on the party’s demands.

Prime Minister Dahal returned from his four-day India visit on Saturday.
