Former Minister Rayamajhi’s son being brought to Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: Former Minister and CPN-UML Secretary Top Bahadur Rayamajhi’s son Sandeep Rayamajhi, detained by the police last evening, is being brought to Kathmandu to be produced before the court.

A high-ranking police source said that he was detained from Bhairahawa while coming to Kathmandu after a program in Arghakhanchi.

UML Secretary Rayamajhi and his son are accused of helping a gang that sends Nepalis to America as fake Bhutanese refugees.

A check of 15 million rupees was found issued in the name of leader Rayamajhi’s son Sandeep.

Sandeep was also arrested by the police on Wednesday itself.

Similarly, Pratik Thapa, the son of the then Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’, is also being searched by the police.

The police have already arrested Teknarayan Pandey, the secretary of the Vice President’s office, and Indrajit Rai, Badal’s then security adviser, in this case.

Police have arrested eight people in this case.
