Sudurpaschim Chief Joshi to call parties for government formation



KAILALI: Provincial Chief of Sudurpaschim Province, Devraj Joshi, is set to call political parties for the formation of the Sudurpaschim province government.

Even though Joshi had prepared to call the parties on Tuesday, he decided to postpone it to Wednesday after the parties urged him to do so.

According to sub-section (2) of Article 168 of the Constitution, Joshi will give one week’s time to submit the claim for government formation.

There are 53 provincial assembly members in Sudurpaschim Province, and 27 MPs are required to form a government.

Sudurpaschim Province Assembly has 19 MPs from Nepali Congress, 11 from Maoist Center, 10 from CPN-UML, 7 from Nagarik Unmukti Party, 4 from Unified Socialist, one from RPP and one independent.
