KATHMANDU: Five Nepalis from the same family of Surkhet died in a road accident in India.

Five members of the same family who had a permanent home in Surkhet and had gone to Awajalpur under the Gulwarga district of the Indian state of Karnataka for employment died in a road accident.

The deceased are Ratan Newar, 27 years old, his wife Asmita Newar, 25 years old, his son Milan Newar, five years old, another son Dhadkan Newar, two years old, and his sister-in-law Sushmita Newar, of Amlatakura, Choukune Rural Municipality 7, Surkhet.

Chairman of Choukune Rural Municipality Khadga BK informed that they died on the spot last night due to a collision with a truck on the main road to Goa.

According to Chairman BK, a truck coming from the opposite direction hit the motorcycle of Ratan and his family who were returning from visiting their brother who was sick in the hospital.

The deceased Newar family had been living in India for the past one year due to employment.
