Fire ravages nine shops in Panchkhal, Kavre



KAVRE: Nine shops were ravaged by a sudden blaze that broke out at 6:30 a.m. today (Friday) morning in Panchkhal, Kavre.

Preliminary estimates suggest that the inferno has resulted in damage worth crores of rupees.

The District Police Office Kavre stated that the fire originated abruptly in the shutter of Uddhab Prasad Timalsina’s residence located at Samajkalyan Chowk, Panchkhal Municipality, likely due to an electrical short circuit.

Among the affected establishments, four clothing shops were completely consumed by the flames, while three hotels, a mobile shop, and a meat shop within Timalsina’s premises suffered partial destruction.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajkumar Shrestha said that the swift response of the fire brigade, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and local residents, collectively managed to bring the fire under control in nearly an hour.
