Govt blacklists 20 underperforming companies

KATHMANDU: The government has taken action against 20 companies that have failed to meet satisfactory performance standards.

The Public Procurement Monitoring Office, operating under the Prime Minister’s Office, has officially blacklisted these underperforming entities.

Today, the Public Procurement Monitoring Office issued a formal notice, unveiling the names of the 20 companies now on the government’s blacklist. These companies have faced the consequences of their subpar performance as several public bodies have recommended their inclusion on the blacklist.

According to the notice, these 20 companies will be barred from securing new contracts for a duration ranging from one to three years. Among the blacklisted companies are notable entities such as M/S Shakeel Haider Engineers and Contractors, Shankar Mali Nirman Sewa Pvt Ltd, Sunaula Khimti Construction Pvt Ltd, M/S Cipel from Hyderabad, India, Safbon Water Service (Holding)Ins from Shanghai, and ISG Information Services Group Americas Inc, Singapore Branch.

Also facing the consequences of their unsatisfactory performance are Arvan Construction Pvt. Ltd, Shivalaya Builders Hetauda, Sky/Waiwa & Lama/Ma Janaki JV from Janakpur, Waiwa & Lama Construction Pvt Ltd. in Kathmandu, Ma Janaki Construction Service in Dhanusha, and Nagarjun Construction Company Pvt. Ltd, among others.

This government crackdown on underperforming companies sends a clear message about the commitment to accountability and ensuring quality standards in public procurement. The move aims to foster transparency and efficiency in government contracts while holding companies accountable for their performance.
