Indefinite curfew imposed in Nepalgunj

KATHMANDU: The District Administration Office Banke has imposed an indefinite curfew within Nepalgunj sub-metropolitan city.

Chief District Officer Bipin Acharya announced the curfew, effective from 1 pm on Tuesday.

This move comes in response to escalating religious tensions that have gripped Nepalgunj in recent days.

To address the situation and foster harmony among the Hindu and Muslim communities, the administration convened an all-party meeting.

Additionally, a unity rally was organized in Nepalgunj on Tuesday morning as part of efforts to promote peace and understanding within the city.
