KATHMANDU: Nepal has bagged the third consecutive victory in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Asia Cup Qualifier.
Nepal defeated Bhutan by three wickets in the match played at UKM YSD Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Sunday.
With this, Nepal has added 6 points. Nepal’s chances of reaching the semi-finals are strong.
Nepal beat Malaysia by five runs in the first match and defeated Bahrain by 10 wickets in the second match.
Nepal completed the normal target of 40 runs presented by Bhutan by losing seven wickets in 13.2 overs. Captain Rubina Chhetri scored 12 unbeaten runs for Nepal.
For Bhutan, Anjuli Ghale took three wickets, Chiring Jangmo took two wickets and Sonam Choden and Anju Gurung took one wicket each.
Before that, Bhutan, who lost the toss and were invited to bat first, scored 39 runs for the loss of eight wickets. Captain Dichen Wangmo scored 21 runs for Bhutan.
Puja Mahato took three wickets for Nepal while Kavita Kunwar, Khushi Dangol, and Rubina Chhetri took one wicket each.
Nepal will now play against Qatar on Monday.
