NOC slashes prices of petroleum products



KATHMANDU: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has reduced the price of petroleum products to be effective from this midnight.

The price of diesel, petrol, kerosene, and aviation fuel has been decreased.

According to NOC, the price has been adjusted by dividing country’s territory in three categories.

NOC Spokesperson Manoj Thakur said in the category, price of diesel, petrol and kerosene has been slashed by Rs 7.50 in the first category, Rs 6 in second category and Rs 5 in third category.

Price of petrol has been determined Rs 167.50 per litre in area of first category, Rs 169 in area of second category and Rs 170 in area of third category.

Earlier, the price of petrol was Rs 175 per litre across the country. The price of diesel and kerosene is Rs 147.50 in the area of first category, Rs 149 per litre in the area of second category and Rs 150 per litre in the area of third category.

The NOC has put Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Birgunj, Amalekhgunj, Bhalbari, Nepalgunj and Dhangadi in first category, Surkhet and Dang in second category and Kathmandu, Pokhara and Dipayal in third category.

Similarly, the price of domestic aviation fuel has been reduced by Rs 14 per litre while international aviation fuel by 115 US dollar per kiloliter.

However, the price of LP gas or cooking gas remains unchanged.
