Ruling coalition leaders in Baluwatar to decide on Koshi govt

KATHMANDU: The top leaders of the ruling coalition have met in Baluwatar, the official residence of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, to settle the dispute over the Koshi province government.

The CPN-UML-led government of the Koshi province formed under Hikmat Kumar Karki’s leadership got ousted on Friday after failing to garner support for the vote of confidence.

With the collapse of the Koshi government, province chief Parshuram Khapung has called for the formation of a majority government with the support of two or more parties according to Article 168 (2) of the constitution.

Although CPN-Maoist Center and Nepali Congress both claim they got the green signal to vie for the post of Chief Minister, they have failed to make any concrete decision so far.
The ruling coalition leaders are expected to finalize the power-sharing deal in Koshi province.
