81 percent of people follow Hinduism in Nepal: National Census 2078 BS



KATHMANDU: Eighty-one percent of people in Nepal follow Hinduism, according to National Census 2078 BS.

According to the National Census 2078 BS, people in Nepal follow 10 religions.

The total population of Nepal has reached 291 million 64 thousand 578.

Similarly, 23,93,549 people i.e. 8.21 percent follow Buddhism, 5.09 percent follow Islam, 3.17 percent follow Kirant and 1.76 percent follow Christianity.

According to the National Census 2068 BS, around 81.3 percent were Hindus in Nepal and 9 percent were Buddhists.

The number of Christians in Nepal has increased by 0.36 percent than 2068 BS.
