CHITWAN: Six local levels in Chitwan district have closed schools due to scorching heat.

Bharatpur Metropolitan City, Ratnanagar Municipality, Khairahani Municipality, Rapti Municipality, Kalika Municipality and Madi Municipality have decided to close the schools for five days.

Chitwan recorded a temperature at 30 degrees Centigrade on Friday.

Four municipalities—Ratnanagar, Khairahani, Rapti and Madi have closed the schools from June 2 to 7, while Bharatpur Metropolitan City and Kalika Municipality from June 4 to 9.

The schools were closed as students felt discomfort attending classes reasoning scorching heat, according to the municipality.
