President Paudel calls session of Federal Parliament
President Ram Chandra Paudel has called a session of the Federal Parliament on the recommendation of the government. The Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday decided to recommend to the President to convene the Parliament session.
PM Dahal’s India visit has nothing to do with arms procurement: Minister Sharma
The government has clarified that the issue of arms procurement from China has nothing to do with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s visit to India. Minister of Communications and government Spokesperson, Rekha Sharma clarified that no proposal has come from the Ministry of Defense regarding the weapons to be purchased by the Nepali Army.
Govt recommends President to call parliament session on May 7
Government has decided to recommend the President to call the next session of the Federal Parliament on coming May 7. The meeting of the Council of Ministers today took the decision to this effect, said the PM’s Secretariat.
Darchula avalanche update: Three bodies including two of women found
The bodies of two women and a man among the five people who went missing in an avalanche at Byas Rural Municipality-1 of Darchula district have been found today. They had gone to the foothills of the Himalayas to collect yarsagumba (Cordecyps sinensis), the valuable alpine herb, were hit by an avalanche and had been missing since Tuesday.
Police issues arrest warrant against UML Secretary Rayamajhi, son on Bhutanese refugee fraud case
An arrest warrant has also been issued against CPN-UML Secretary Top Bahadur Rayamajhi and his son Sandeep on the charge of defrauding Nepali citizens by making them fake Bhutanese refugees and sending them to America.
3 people killed, 5 injured as truck crashes into a house in Tanahu
Three people died and five others were injured when a truck overturned and crashed into a house in Tanahu on Wednesday morning. A truck (Na 4 Kha 1973), heading toward Muglin from Dumre, went out of control and hit the house of Sunmaya Bhujel and San Bahadur Bhujel on the side of the road at Tanahu Bandipur Rural Municipality-5.
