DPM Shrestha leaving for Doha today to attend LDCs Conference



KATHMANDU: Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, is leaving for Doha of Qatar today (Friday) to take part in the Conference of the Least Developed Countries (LDCs).

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Deputy Prime Minister will be leading the Nepali delegation to the Fifth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDCs) to be held in Doha, the State of Qatar, from 5 to 9 March 2023.

Prior to the event, the Deputy Prime Minister will address the Summit of the LDC Group to be held on the 4th of March, coordinated by Malawi, the current chair of the LDC group.

Nepal is scheduled to take the chairmanship of the group of LDCs this year.

In Doha, Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha is scheduled to address the plenary session of the Conference and hold bilateral meetings with delegations from different countries and organizations.

He will also interact with the representatives of the organizations of the Nepali diaspora.

The delegation will include Dr. Min Bahadur Shrestha, Vice-chairman of the National Planning Commission, lawmaker Jitendra Narayan Dev, government secretaries and the ambassador of Nepal to the State of Qatar and other senior officials.

The Deputy Prime Minister is scheduled to return from Doha on March 7.
