Schools closed to avoid cold in Mahottari



MAHOTTARI: Local levels in Mahottari district have begun closing down schools to avoid growing cold.

Nine local levels in the district issued notice to close down schools for four to eight days citing the chilling atmosphere since Monday morning.

Jaleshwor Municipality, and Pipara and Samsi Rural Municipalities decided to close the schools for a week from today.

Similarly, Matihani, Bhangaha, Loharpatti, Aurahi and Balwa Municipality and Sonma Rural Municipality notified that the schools would remain closed for four days.

Earlier on Sunday, Manrashishwa and Ramgopalpur shut down the schools for five days.

Among 15 local levels, 11 have issued notice informing that it would be the winter vacation.

The notices the local levels issued have stated that they took decisions to close schools reasoning the cold wave.

Although four local levels have not decided for the school closure, the number of students attending class has sharply declined.

The locals have said cold wave and fog have afflicted the life in the central and southern belt of the district.
