KMC health workers continue street protests for second consecutive day

KATHMANDU: Medical professionals from Kathmandu Medical College have entered their second day of protests in response to the assault of doctors and other healthcare personnel while on duty.

The incident occurred on early Sunday morning when Dr. Manish Khadka was assaulted by the relatives of patients undergoing dialysis at the hospital.

In the aftermath of the attack, KMC staff, including doctors, began their protest on Sunday, citing concerns about their safety. They continued their demonstration on Monday, emphasizing their feelings of insecurity.

Notably, the government had recently pledged to prevent workplace attacks on doctors, a promise that was made just a day before the assault on KMC staff.

The police have apprehended two individuals from Gulmi in connection with the assault case at KMC.
