KATHMANDU: A low-pressure system in the vicinity of the Indian states of Bihar and West Bengal is currently influencing weather patterns in Nepal, resulting in widespread rainfall.
The Weather Forecasting Division said that light to moderate rainfall is presently underway in select areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
Later in the day, there is a likelihood of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder in various locations across Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini states, with a few scattered areas in the remaining provinces.
Furthermore, heavy rain may occur at one or two locations in the Koshi, Madhesh, and Lumbini provinces, according to the Division.
Later tonight, the country is expected to experience moderate rainfall.
In light of this rainfall, there is the potential for a slight increase in river water levels in these regions, raising concerns about potential disasters such as floods, landslides, and erosion.
The Division has urged individuals to take necessary precautions to safeguard their health, agriculture, daily routines, road and air traffic, and to mitigate the risks associated with lightning-related damage.
