JHAPA: Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Thapa has said Nepali people were undergoing restlessness and rage, so only changed Congress can address their issues.

Addressing a municipal conference of NC Mechinagar committee at Dhulabari in the district today, General Secretary Thapa viewed wrong activities of political leaderships are to blame to have society losing confidence. NC must change itself to restore public trust on politics and party, he stressed.

“Irrespective of the political parties leading the government and ruling country, they have bettered themselves rather than paying heed to people and country. It is what people’s perspective towards parties at present,” he reminded, making aware the parties over the seething people.

The General Secretary further emphasized that NC leadership must deliver to the people. People’s rage and restlessness must be addressed with service and delivery, according to him.

Those ruling the government were involved in policy level corruptions and one after another scandals, he reminded, making it clear that NC would no longer bear such blemish.

Thapa urged the party to hold party general convention in 2082 for its transformation. He also urged leadership to change current election system in the party.

He argued that NC members and voters were disappointed because the election tickets were distributed to those who are acolytes to certain leaders. “Such vertical decision making and distribution of election tickets must be ended,” Thapa underlined.
