Breakthrough made in energy trade: PM Prachanda

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, who is on a four-day official visit to India, has said that his India visit has become historical. Talking to the media from Nepal in New Delhi Friday morning, the PM said that there has been a breakthrough in energy trade adding that crucial achievements have been obtained for the development of hydroelectricity sector.

Three people, including former vice-chancellor of BPKIHS found guilty of misappropriation

Three former officials, including the former vice-chancellor of Dharan’s BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, have been found guilty of irregularities in the purchase of health equipment. The Special Court found BPKIHS’s former vice-chancellor Balabhadra Prasad Das, former registrar Nand Kumar Thapa, and former director Arvind Kumar Sinha guilty of corruption.

Prime Minister Dahal in Indore

Visiting Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ today visited Indore, the largest city in Madhya Pradesh of India. The Prime Minister who is on a four-day official India visit since May 31 reached Indore via a special flight and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and government officials received him at Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar International Airport in Indore.

KMC instructs bus operators to operate out-of-valley vehicles only from Gongabu Bus Park

The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has issued a directive stating that long, medium, and short-distance vehicles traveling outside the Kathmandu Valley must now operate only from Gongbu Bus Park.

Marathon competition being held in Rara

A marathon competition is to be held in Rara lake area of Mugu district on Saturday. The Shreebox Company of Nepali Army, Rara Hutu and Chhayanath Rara Municipality are jointly organizing the third series of the Rara Marathon Competition.

Muglin-Malekhu road section being upgraded

The Nagdhunga-Mulgin Road Project (West Section) has started the expansion and upgradation of 39-km-long Muglin-Malekhu road section. Sharma ZICG JV is awarded the construction contract, and the construction of the five kilometres road is taking place in the first phase, Project Chief Kiran Karki said. As per the contract agreement, 17 kms road would be upgraded towards Chitwan district and 22 kms in Dhading.

Sweltering pre-monsoon heat afflicts country

Temperature is soaring across the country including in Kathmandu Valley for the last some days. The sweltering heat is felt because the mercury has been continuously climbing along with sunshine with clear skies for the last five days.

Foreign Employment Board alerts against fraudsters

The Foreign Employment Board has urged foreign job aspirants not be duped by fraudsters luring lucrative jobs in South Africa, stating that the racket was very active lately. Issuing a notice here today, the Board said that the racket was found issuing a false work permit to make-believe the foreign job aspirants and duping them later.
