KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has issued a directive stating that long, medium, and short-distance vehicles traveling outside the Kathmandu Valley must now operate only from Gongbu Bus Park.

The KMC has urged public buses to operate from Gongbu Bus Park, citing concerns about the current traffic management system being hindered by random parking, ticket booking counters, and indiscriminate boarding and alighting of passengers along the road section.

The KMC has further urged all relevant parties to remove all ticket counters that are currently operating outside the New Bus Park starting from Asar 1.

The KMC has announced a prohibition on long-distance vehicles, holding road permits for destinations such as Dhulikhel, Banepa, and Sankhu, from making any stops between Kalanki and Jadibuti.

“Vehicles ignoring this instruction will be taken action in coordination with the traffic police,” the KMC said.
