Some elements targeting me with baseless, fabricated accusations: NC leader Arzu Rana

KATHMANDU: Central member of Nepali Congress (NC) and parliamentarian Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba has said that some individuals were hell-bent on tarnishing her image and reputation by making unfounded and baseless accusations against her.

Dr. Rana, who is also the spouse of Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, issuing a statement on Tuesday, said that her personal and political character was being assassinated.

“My attention has been drawn to the fact that some people have targeted me with baseless and fabricated accusations with the dirty intention of assassinating my personal and political character,” she said.

“Every person has the right to freely express his/her opinion. But no one has the right to make baseless accusations against anyone,” she said.

“It is deplorable that some people, with the intention of assassinating my character, have given media interviews alleging me of baseless accusations,” she said.

Dr. Rana has also urged the media not to publish such baseless reports.
