NEPSE declines by 20 points on Sunday



KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has responded newly appointed Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat by witnessing a decline of 20 points on Sunday, the first trading day of the week.

The NEPSE fell by 1.05 percent on the first trading day after receiving Mahat.

The stock market index NEPSE closed at 1888.55 points with a drop of 20 points.

NEPSE fell by double digits due to decline in all sub-indices, including banking, which leads the market.

While the trade sub-index declined the most by 2.58 percent, the hydropower sub-index declined by 1.63 percent. Similarly, the banking sub-index declined by 1.08 percent.

The transaction amount, which fell below 1 billion consecutively on the last two trading days of the last week, witnessed an increment on Sunday. There had been a transaction of around Rs 820 million on Wednesday and Rs 900 million on Thursday, and Rs 1.2 billion today.

As the share price of Kalinchowk Darshan Company increased and closed at the positive circuit price, the share price of Jeevan Bikash Microfinance increased by 4.87 percent and the share price of Swet Ganga Hydropower increased by 2.50 percent.

While the share price of Swabhiman Microfinance fell by 9.61 percent, the share price of Kalika Microfinance decreased by 7.49 percent and the share price of Vijay Microfinance decreased by 6.69 percent today.
