KATHMANDU: A Kathmandu-Dubai flight of Nepal Airlines was delayed for 11 hours after the aircraft’s pilot reportedly fell ill.
The flight number RA229 of NA, which was supposed to fly on Saturday at 12 midnight, took off around 11 am on Sunday.
According to Ganesh Kumar Ghimire, Assistant Spokesperson of the Nepal Airlines Corporation, one of the pilots assigned to this flight reportedly fell ill.
The flight was delayed due to the unavailability of alternative pilot.
“The flight was not cancelled, it was delayed,” Ghimire said.
A total of 266 passengers from this widebody plane took boarding passes to fly to Dubai.
They were kept in different hotels at night and taken to the airport in the morning.
