Revival of pre-election alliance possible due to Prachanda’s boldness: Deuba

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba said it was possible to revive the pre-election alliance because of Prime Minister and Chairman of Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda’s boldness and Unified Socialist Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal’s “generosity”.

Speaking at an orientation given to Federal Parliamentarians for the presidential election on Thursday, NC President Deuba praised PM Dahal and Unified Socialist Chairman Nepal.

He said, “NC nominated Ram Chandra Poudel, my old friend, as the presidential candidate. This has proved wrong to those who complained that I did not give any opportunity to Poudel.”

Likewise, speaking at the same orientation, Unified Socialist Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal said, “Ram Chandra Poudel is a suitable candidate for the country’s president.”

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Dahal said that Poudel would definitely become the country’s President on March 9.
