KATHMANDU: Experts have warned severe cold weather is set to hit the country for the next three days with morning temperatures likely to plummet further.

Snow is likely in the mountainous region, and cold waves across the terai.

Experts also suggested people to reduce outdoor activities in the morning as it will be very cold in the country for the next three days.

They have urged people to take necessary precautions as the weather is unfavorable in Terai and some hilly areas due to the influence of the western wind.

For the last few days, the country has witnessed severe cold throughout the country.

Climate and disaster expert Dr. Dharmaraj Upreti, talking to News Agency Nepal, said the country would witness severe cold, especially in the mornings, due to western wind impact.

He said that it will be cold for children, old people, chronic patients, heart patients for the next three days and urged people not to go out of the house in the morning.

According to experts, due to the low pressure conditions created in West Bengal and the influence of western winds, Nepal would witness cold weather.

They have also suggested people to use a mask compulsorily if they have to walk outside in the morning.
