Subash Nembang not willing to become Speaker

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML leader and former Speaker Subash Nemwang has made it clear that he was not interested to become the Speaker yet again.

Sources close to him said Nembang’s desire is to become the President this time as ruling parties have agreed that the post of the President will go to UML.

Therefore, Nembang is optimistic about getting the top post as he is considered close to UML Chairman KP Oli.

With the Chairman of the Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ becoming the Prime Minister, the President and the Speaker of the House of Representatives have gone to UML.

A UML leader said Nembang has told the party that he was not willing to become the Speaker again.

“Since I have been the Speaker many times, I am not willing to serve as the Speaker yet again,” the leader quoted Nemband as saying.
