NRB reports net profit of 87 billion rupees in previous fiscal year



KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) announced a remarkable net profit exceeding 87 billion rupees in the fiscal year 2079/80.

As per the audited financial statements released by the central bank, NRB achieved a net profit of Rs. 87,603,745,448.

This marked a significant upsurge of 29.25 percent from the previous fiscal year when the net profit stood at 61.98 billion rupees.

During this period, NRB witnessed a substantial rise in interest income, earning 47.228 billion rupees from foreign currency and an additional 15.34 billion rupees from Nepali currency. Consequently, the total interest income for NRB over the year amounted to 62.57 billion rupees, contributing to an operating income of 66.92 billion rupees.

Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari presented NRB’s annual report for the fiscal year 2079-80 to Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat earlier today.
