PM Dahal discusses TJ process with Deuba and Oli

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ held talks with Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and main opposition leader KP Sharma Oli at Baluwatar today. The meeting, convened to expedite the long-stalled transitional justice (TJ) process, underscored the pressing need for finalizing the Transitional Justice Bill, as said by the Prime Minister’s Secretariat. Of particular focus was the pending Transitional Justice Bill, the subject of intensive deliberations during the meeting.

UN Secretary-General Guterres returns to New York today

United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres returned to New York today after concluding a four-day official visit to Nepal. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Guterres departed from the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on a Qatar Airways flight today morning. During his visit, Guterres engaged in a range of high-level discussions, including a notable address to a joint session of the Federal Parliament on Tuesday.

Peace process should conclude ensuring justice for victims: UML Chair Oli

CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli has reiterated concluding the long pending peace process in consensus ensuring justice to the victims of the conflict. Speaking to reporters at the festival tea reception organized by his party at the central office in Chyasal on Wednesday, Chairman Oli said that the peace process should be concluded through consensus. “The peace process should be concluded with consensus and should ensure justice to the victims as well,” he said.

NEPSE’s downward journey continues, stock market falls by 5.83 points on Wednesday

The downward journey of the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) continued on Wednesday. The NEPSE index decreased by 5.83 points to 1858 points. However, the turnover increased on Wednesday compared to Tuesday. Securities worth Rs 571.4 million were traded on Tuesday, while on Wednesday it was Rs 812 million. As the price of 68 companies increased, 162 decreased while 8 remained stable.
