Indian Army Maj Gen Kacker wraps up six-day visit to Nepal



KATHMANDU: Major General Alok Kacker, AVSM, GOC HQ Madhya UP Sub Area, and Colonel of Regiment 9 GR, India embarked on a significant six-day official visit to Nepal, which concluded on October 1, 2023.

Upon his arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, on September 25, 2023, Maj. Gen. Kacker was warmly received by Colonel Amit Kumar Sharma, the Defense Attache of India to Nepal, and officials from the Indian Embassy. During his visit, Maj. Gen. Kacker engaged in several notable activities, demonstrating the continued cooperation between India and Nepal.

One of the highlights of his visit was a rally in Pokhara, where Maj. Gen. Kacker felicitated Gallantry awardees and veernaris. Additionally, he virtually inaugurated the Ex-servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) type-E Polyclinic (Mobile Medical Unit) in Bhojpur, Kathmandu.

This polyclinic is set to serve as a crucial lifeline for Indian Army veterans and their families residing in remote areas of Bhojpur. It is expected to provide essential healthcare services at its doorstep, benefiting more than five thousand Indian Army veterans and their families in the Far East region.

Kacker’s visit to Nepal has been marked by its success and productivity, reinforcing the strong ties between the two nations.
