KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Chairman of the main opposition party CPN-UML, KP Sharma Oli, engaged in a discussion at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar on Sunday morning.
The meeting, convened to address pressing concerns, included the participation of Nepal Congress leader and Defense Minister Purna Bahadur Khadka, as well as representatives from the Maoist Center.
One of the key points of contention between the government and opposition parties, particularly the main opposition, is the failure to establish a high-level commission to investigate gold smuggling, as stipulated by an earlier agreement between the political parties.
It is widely speculated that this issue took center stage during the discussion between the two leaders.
In response to the growing tension and concerns, an all-party meeting has been convened today, bringing together representatives from various parties in the parliament to deliberate on the pressing matters at hand.
