PM Dahal and Indian PM Modi commit to resolve border disputes amicably through dialogue



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi discussed the Nepal-India border issue during a meeting held at the Hyderabad House in New Delhi on Thursday.

Speaking at a joint press conference held after the bilateral talks at Hyderabad House, both Prime Ministers said that they discussed the border dispute between the two countries.

Indian Prime Minister Modi said that the border dispute can be resolved through dialogue.

“We will continue to work to take our relationship to the heights of the Himalayas. With this spirit, we will solve border-related or other issues as well,” PM Modi said.

Addressing the press conference, Prime Minister Dahal said that they discussed addressing the border issues between Nepal and India.

“Prime Minister Modi and I discussed border issues. I maintained that the border dispute should be resolved through the established diplomatic mechanism,” said Prime Minister Dahal.

Nepal and India are engaged in border disputes at various places including Lipulek, Limpiyadhura, Kalapani and Susta.
